I was searching the web when i found this video of the LWL studio. I think it is a fantastic insight into the life of a designer. It shows all new designers what goes into the creation of such a magazine. Really cool vid enjoy.
After looking at some of the Little White Lies magazines, i have picked out a few covers that i like.
I particularly like the pastel colours used in some of these but also give a certain vibrance to the image which portrays where the film is set e.g decade. I have noticed that a lot of the covers are hand drawn then manipulated into digital images. This is something i am going to have to explore.
We have recently been given a new brief at uni for the D&AD competition. The brief that i am going to peruse will be to create a new front cover for the Little White Lies magazine.
Little White LIes is a magazine that focuses on new films. Each issue contains images, interviews, reviews and general information on new films. each issue has one main film as there front cover. this is usually in the style of a portrait of the main character.
My task is to create a new front cover for one of the following films:
The tree of life
Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy
Each have very defining characteristics which should be displayed in the front cover. Will need to watch each film to get a better understanding of them.
